Fourier Transform: transform time-domain signals into the spectral domain, easy. but why use only these two domains?

➡️ fractional Fourier Transform, for transform into the space in between. time domain – alpha=0; spectral domain – alpha=1, other alphas: a strange world. 🙃 pic.twitter.com/3hvJu4oS2k
imagine the regular Fourier transform as a 90° rotation in time-frequency plane, so fractional Fourier transform let's you rotate all around.

could be used to reduce frequency-varying noise.
you see that I have trouble to label axes, as time morphs to ??? morphs to frequency. 🤔 pic.twitter.com/hjq0nTBZSb
